As a Graphologist, Dr. Bhide terms handwriting as brain writing. The brain is a complex network of connections, comprising of millions of cells called neurons constantly communicating with one another through electro-chemical pulses. It is a proven fact that when a person communicates through speech, only 15-20% of brain cells or neurons are in an active state, however, while communicating through writing, a person activates almost 85-90% of neurons. Thus, the work of a Graphologist is to understand psychological patterns embedded in a person’s handwriting. Graphology is based on this basic principle, that every individual has a unique personality, and this uniqueness is showcased in the form of his handwriting. A Graphologist seeks to decipher this psychological code by studying elements like Margin, Font size, Slants, Pressure, Connection patterns, zones and legibility in writing.

Graphology, other than contributing to forensic purposes, also aims at understanding underlying psychological conditions like stress, depression, lack of confidence and motivation to name a few. Thus, with an accurate analysis of one’s handwriting, one can start addressing these issues and find viable solutions for the same. In short, it aims at psychological/ sub-conscious mapping and programming for self-improvement.
